Sushi 99 Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place is the worst! The salmon was not fresh, the rice they use was warm! Terrible restaurant with relative high price!

So for my first time I had to say it was OK. Now I've been to plenty of hibachis but this one just made the mark. veggies and meat were good but rice/lo mein had no veggies so it tasted plain. yum yum and ginger sauce was good. soup honestly tasted bad. salad wasn't chopped. just big iceberg lettuce with sauce. I like the place for convince and atmosphere. maybe there sushi it what keeps the customers coming. I love the fact you can take it to go though! I'll try again and next time I'll order sushi.

The atmosphere was really pleasant and comfortable. Nice decor. The wait staff were friendly and quick. Great service. And reasonably priced! We liked the complimentary soup and holiday roll. Very tasty. We ordered 3 rolls. Our favorites were the sushi 99 roll and the crazy girl roll. We will definitely come back. Our new go to sushi spot in Daytona!

Being from Atlanta and enjoying great sushi regularly, I wasn't expecting from this place we stumbled upon late one evening while at the beach. My my were we blown away by this little gem! Staff was very attentive, presentation was beautiful, and taste was on point! We'll be back this summer no doubt!

Had never been here and probably won't go again. Service was good. It was wham bam on the food. Main sushi course came out before appetizer and when we were finished with all had to order another appetizer cos we were still hungry. For $70 not worth it for an hour experience. Sushi fell apart also.

Tourist looking for good sushi and this place was satisfying. Friendly waitress, very reasonable in price, and nice atmosphere. The plates of sushi were also fun to look at. Thanks Chloe for the great service! We would recommend this restaurant. No complaints. Oh, and the complementary soup and house roll was very appreciated!

There is that rare occasion where you go out to a restaurant and the experience is perfect. Clean, classy atmosphere. Super friendly greeter. Our server here was wonderful. He remembered my special order of extra pickled ginger and even brought the table a free sushi roll. One of us even said "I didn't even realize my water was low" at one point. The waiter was on top of everything. The sushi tasted fantastic! Definitely one of the better sushi places I've been to. All in all a solid 5-star experience!

This place is located in a strip mall near I-95. It looks unassuming. The interior is well decorated and in good shape. Large screen TVs showed rugby and some Asian tv show with subtitles. The sound is turned down so you can hear the contemporary Asian music playing. In a Saturday night the place was half empty. Took a while for a server to take our drink orders to the point we were ready to give our food orders. We each ordered teppanyaki: two chicken and one shrimp. We each had the ginger salad and rice. Bottom line is that the non sushi food is bland and greasy. Not terrible but not great. The ginger salad dressing is bland and oddly orange colored. The soup they bring out was bland. The white sauce is bland. The sushi may be okay but the food we had was not great. The service was okay. Three people with tip was over $60.

First impression is a generously sized strip mall sushi place. The corner spot gives it the extra elbow room. Clean, open and comfortably modern. The menu is safe Americanized Sushi, Rolls and a few extra "cooked" dishes. Nothing scary or adventurous. While pursuing the menu and beef broth (?) and small plate of the Holiday appetizer came out. Fun! The Sashimi appetizer came with 9 generous prices. A small note on the Tuna, it was the most beautiful deep red. Just beautiful. The Lucky Dragon was a excellent choice. I find my choices on rolls are getting more limited with time. No fake Krab, no cream cheese, no fried (except soft shelled crabs) Yet, these item dominate the menu in most standard Sushi places. The Luck Dragon is a happy marriage of warm eel, avocado and topped with cool sliver of Tuna. With great enjoyment, this roll is perfectly sized to pop into your mouth. The rice is a perfect bridge with a nice snap of scallion and roe. I over ordered. Go figure. But this was a perfect stop for a hectic day. Downers - two tv's (I know, 'murica) but one had Man vs Food which arguably is quite contrarian to the delightful food is art concept. Over all. Good place to kick back and enjoy.

Soup and sushi we had was good and service was prompt. Ginger salad was a little bland and no draft beer, but most sushi places don't have draft. Would come again.

Not a great experience for lunch. Service was good, fast and friendly. Sushi was a very mixed bag. California roll was average but nigiri was not too good with fish pieces room temperature and a bit tough. Would have expected chefs choice to be a bit better and more well prepared. Salad really bad drowned in dressing.

Don't believe all the complainers, haters and that "I ate sushi in Japan" guy. It is very hard to find good sushi restaurants in this area. This is Port Orange we're talking about. However this restaurant nails it. The prices are very reasonable and the sushi is spot on. Their specialty rolls are fantastic and the sashimi is very fresh tasting. I've eaten here several times and I've never been disappointed. If lunchtime is more your thing you should consider this place. The prices are even cheaper and the portions are huge. They also have great tempura vegetables and a whole hibachi selection as well.

As a regular to Sushi 99 I have tried most all of their specialty rolls. They are consistent in excellently prepared rolls. The service can sometimes leave something to be desired, but the food itself completely makes up for that. Every meal is served with a complimentary clear soup and half serving of what they call a holiday roll. It is essentially krab fried and drizzled with eel sauce and yum yum sauce. While we are on the topic of yum yum sauce they bring a squeeze bottle of it to every table. As far as price is concerned everything seems really affordable. Expect to spend $13-$20 depending on what you order but for sushi this excellent that is more than an appropriate price in my opinion.

Overall this sushi bar is awesome ,on the other hand there is a waitress that has a bitch ass attitude and we had a couple times before I got with here rude and reluctant attitude to help use choose and in understanding what some bof the items were on the menu. MY husband and I asked for another waiter and she was reluctant to go and reolace her bitch ass with another waitress. The waitress after her was awesome we had her b4. She answered all our sushi questions I n and went over and beyond in making us feel welcome

Quiet, small place. Excellent and fresh seafood. Sashimi deluxe meal is excellent for the price. Upon arrival they bring soup and a small free house roll to your table. And on top of all this it's very reasonable prices. Will be back....already have!!

This restaurant is new to Port Orange so we decided to bring our family here to try it out. As soon as you walk in, staff is waiting to seat you. The hostess & the server were very efficient. I asked a question to the hostess but she didn't understand me. Don't get me wrong, coming from Las Vegas this happens a lot. Anyways, the server was friendly, got our food out very fast, refilled drinks but wasn't as knowledgable about the menu. The server gave us soup before we even ordered & a sample of sushi, which I was pleased about. I saw a seared tuna salad that caught my eye, decided to try it & got myself a sushi roll. My spouse & brother got habachi, while my niece got katsu. We were trying a bit of everything & even if it looked appetizing it didn't satisfy my palette. I was quite disappointed. The Tuna Tataki that I was so excited to try was bland & the other entrees we got (steak & shrimp habachi/chicken katsu) was so lifeless. The portions of the food were quite small. The only thing I really enjoyed was the Pheonix Sushi Roll, but for $14 I've had better for cheaper. The dessert items seemed appealing so I ordered the Fried Oreo for the kids. It was 4 pieces of Oreos for $5. It didn't come with ice cream just a few squirts of whipped cream. Big shock, another disappointment. It didn't taste all that great. We spent about $100 including tip. The service was good, the decor was nice but the food was a let down. I left feeling hungry & very disappointed. Probably not coming back. Maybe after a few months & they get their groove we'll try again, but don't waste your money.

This place has some pretty good sushi. As I've mentioned previously in other sushi restaurants that I've reviewed, the overall quality of sushi in the Daytona area is nothing to brag about. But, if I'm in the mood for sushi, this place is always open for consideration. The food is good and the staff is very friendly.

What a fantastic place for reasonably priced, high quality sushi. The plating was nice but lacked a little sophistication. I had the Crunchy Roll special. It was absolutely to die for. The soup served beforehand was also worth mentioning for its mild flavoring and the lovely texture of the mushrooms in it. The sushi in and of itself was sublime and I enjoyed the tempura very much. I would highly recommend this to a friend and plan on going back. Bravo!

YUUUM! This was one of the only places open on Christmas eve. We came in about 5 minutes before they closed. They didn't mind at all and treated us so great. Food was good, sake was good and the service was good!!!

A gem off the beaten path. Seated quickly on a Friday night. Greeted by a smiling face and free bowl of soup. Excellent menu. Free sushi appetizer. Presentation on everything, a work of sushi art. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Service, top notch. Great find!

I've eaten here many times and loved it each time. The staff, location, outdoor seating, and atmosphere are great too. So far I've liked everything I've tried here, including the miso soup and fried rice. I'm from DC and very picky. We searched for a good sushi place when we moved and we found it here. Can't wait to go back!

Just got home from heaven! Sushi 99 did not fail to knock me over! Fresh, beautiful presentation, great new concepts, never ceasing to knock your socks off with innovation! Beverly is the best server at any restaurant in Volusia County that I have experienced! These people are pros! If you love being spoiled, don't overlook Sushi 99! The Heart Roll is memorable. The sashimi is incomparable. Their trade mark ice bowls are REAL ice! By the way, I had the shrimp and veggie tempura along with other items. Super crispy and not oily or greasy!

Was looking for a good sushi take-out place on my trip here in Daytona and decided to stop here due to all the great reviews. Didn't have time to dine in so ordered online which was very convenient. Had to wait a few for the food but I left pretty much after ordering so that was ok. The hostess was very nice and polite, hence the 1 star. Now for the food....I'm super shocked people think this place is so fantastic. If this is what Floridians consider great sushi, well......that is very sad. We tried the tempura shrimp roll and soft shell crab roll with a side of fried rice and tempura veggies. It also came with a small salad an soup. For a treat the fried oreos. The sushi rolls have to be the worst rolled sushi I have ever seen. Wegmans grocery store rolls better than that. Come on. I had to eat my crab roll with a fork by the end because it just all fell apart. The lettuce inside (which it doesn't state it has on the website) was brown is some spots. Also if you look at the pic of the sushi, that's both rolls together so I got a wopping 6 pieces of crab roll that barely contained any crab for $8.95. That is absolutely ridiculous and a rip off. My son had the shrimp which seemed to rolled fine a little greasy and sloppy though. He's 4 so I don't think it bothered him. :P The fried rice was just greasy rice and some of the veggies were ok , but the zucchini ones were filled with grease. I didn't even try the soup. It looked old to me and didn't smell appetizing. The oreos were soggy and greasy. My son didn't even want them. What kid doesn't want chocolaty goodness? I didn't want them either. Overall very disappointed. I know sometime takeout orders aren't as put together but come on this was just plain laziness in my opinion. For $28 I'm sure I could of found better. :(

In a town with no whole foods within a 40 mile radius, one might imagine limited restaurants. Yes, Daytona has only a few good restaurants (and I've been to all of them,) but Sushi 99 is one of those good restaurants! My relatives know my high standards so when we went here, they were lobbying really hard to make me like it. "So Beverly the waitress is the best," "the food is really authentic" "Stop overburdening our nephew." That's what the first few minutes here sounded like. I had no idea what was good here so my Uncle said, "Just order everything with dragon in it." That was a good choice, I ordered a few roles with "dragon" in them and they were really good. This place sure knows how to make good sushi. This venue is popular with winter breakers (I was half expecting to watch Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez stumble through the restaurant barfing). They weren't loud though. Thanks to my crazy Italian relatives, my table was the loudest and we made sure it stayed that way. It's really hard to criticize a sushi place unless it's expensive or you get food poisoning. I got neither + the sushi was extra tasty so yay for four stars. Also, yay for being the best restaurant I've been to in the Daytona area! I'll be back soon.

I'm a fan of Sushi99...at least after my first experience! We were promptly greeted and seated. They atmosphere was very modern and the seating is spaced nicely...you will never feel crowded while dining. I ordered two rolls, and the hubs ordered Tempura Chicken and Veggies. We received complimentary soups which were tasty broths. The hubs received the standard iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing with his meal. The Tempura was hot and freshly prepared. The rolls were delicious. I would definitely try this place again. I think one has to remember that this is indeed Japanese-American fare in order to not compare the fried rice and udon to Chinese-American styled Lo Mein and fried rice. I appreciated the complimentary appetizer and the excellent customer service. I will return.

Great! The food is just amazing! They have good lunch specials. The wait staff are a little inattentive, and the place looks a bit dinky, but the food makes up for it. Beautiful presentation, tastes mind blowing. 10/10 will be back again

The Specialty Rolls are Exquisite! I will write more on this soon--but I am leaving this here as a reminder! This was our second trip to Sushi 99 and it was just as good as the first trip This has been the best Sushi we have had in the area. Great Time with family as well. We Will be Back!

This being my third visit here, I felt it was a good time to write a review. The customer service, ambiance and of course food quality has been on point every time. The hostess, who occasionally doubles as a waitress during the odd slow times I come in, took note of my messenger bag and respected the fact that I came in to do some work while I ate. She brought out my appetizer ( perfectly portioned gyoza serving! ) promptly and kindly offered to put my dinner order on hold until I was ready. The decor flows well every holiday from Christmas to Valentine's Day. For an even more calming and diverse feel (which being from Miami & Orlando, I always appreciate), the music at an appropriate volume plays an array of music. These elements are tied together by the adequate portioned food servings and perfect presentations.

The food here is excellent. It may be my favorite place to get sushi in Florida. They also give you complimentary soup and a holiday roll as an appetizer, which is delicious. The service here is the worst I've ever had. The food is always staggered coming out, sometimes I get my appetizers after I've already started on my main course. The wait staff just stands around in the back talking to the cooks and comes out every 15 minutes or so. They do not check on you or ask how your food is, and you may end up waiting a while before getting a refill on your drink. Maybe takeout is the way to go. I only really dine in for the free holiday roll, honestly.

As I said before, Sushi 99 is great for every level of sushi lover - noob, casual, & frequent sushi eaters. I've eaten here for a while now ...so long that the staff knows my usual order. My go-to is steak fried rice & a dynamite roll (NOM) but today I decided to change it up and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and expected a small chicken breast, some veggies, and a small side of rice. What I actually got was two beautifully teriyaki glazed chicken breasts over a mound of hibachi veggies and a solid amount of fried rice. Each piece of the teriyaki chicken was packed with flavor (this wasn't the I'm going to cook chicken and then lightly squirt them with teriyaki sauce scenario that you find at a lot of places). I think it's safe to say that Sushi 99 has a great menu and no item is overlooked because of how little it may be ordered (and vice versa). The staff is as friendly as ever and they always have some sports playing on their TVs. I'll continue to explore their menu. I'm optimistic I'll find a new favorite dish.

I have eaten here a few times. I have never been dissatisfied other than one time and it was more of a bummer because I was in the mood for sushi. One night the hostess mentioned it would be a 45 minute wait for sushi because they were down 1 chef. Makes sense, stuff happens, could have been sick or an emergency. Other than that, food is great as well as service.

Me and my friends frequent here about twice a month! The sushi is always up to par and the hibachi is flavorful!

We go about two times a month. However, we will not go back any more. Average food, bad experience, and it's getting worse each time!

Pretty good sushi. The presentation of the food plates were really pretty. The interior is really nice too.
